Barcelona and Osasuna to Appeal Rescheduled La Liga Clash Date

Barcelona and Osasuna are reportedly both unhappy with the newly scheduled date for their rescheduled La Liga fixture, after the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) confirmed the game will now take place on March 27.

The original match was postponed at the last minute due to the tragic passing of Barcelona’s first-team doctor, Carles Miñarro Garcia. While both clubs understand the necessity of rescheduling, they are frustrated with the selected date, which falls during the final days of the current international break.

The timing poses a significant problem for both teams, as they could be forced to play without key players who will still be on international duty. For Barcelona, this could mean the absence of defender Ronald Araujo and winger Raphinha, both of whom will be with their respective South American national teams. Meanwhile, Osasuna faces the prospect of losing Flavien Enzo Boyomo for the fixture.

Reports indicate that both clubs are planning to appeal the decision within the allotted 48-hour window. However, securing an alternative date will not be easy, given the already congested football calendar. The final week of the season appears to be one of the only viable alternatives, but whether La Liga and the RFEF will consider such a change remains uncertain.

With both teams pushing back against the decision, it remains to be seen whether the governing bodies will reconsider and accommodate their concerns. For now, March 27 remains the scheduled date, but further developments are expected as the clubs continue their appeal process.
